About Laurens van Delft

I'm a senior EU policy professional with over 15 years of experience in Brussels, working at the intersection of agri-food, trade, market data and regulatory affairs. As Deputy Secretary General of the European Whey Processors Association (EWPA) and Director Trade & Economics at the European Dairy Association (EDA), I lead our work on international trade, SPS/TBT issues, market access, the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and economic and market data analysis. I represent the European dairy and whey industries in key EU-level expert groups, including the Milk Market Observatory (MMO) Economic Board, the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC) and the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Market Access Working Group (SPS MAWG). My work combines technical analysis, policy coordination and engagement with EU institutions and member organisations. Earlier in my career I worked in the energy and fertilizer sectors, and in the European Parliament where I advised on policy and communications. I’m interested in how EU policy and regulatory frameworks shape the agri-food sector and how trade and data connect to real-world outcomes for business.
