About Laurent Taskin

Laurent Taskin is a full professor of HRM and Organisation Studies at the Louvain School of Management, Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium), and affiliate research professor at Université Paris Dauphine PSL. Holder of the Chair "Management Humain & Société", and responsible of the Master in HRM, He has also been invited professor at Bayes Business School (City, University of London), Warwick Business School, UQAM (Montreal, CA). His pioneering work on "humane management","despatialization","distanciation", hybrid work and the challenges it raises in terms of identity work, community, control and collaboration has been published in outlets like Organization Studies, Human Relations, HRM Review, Journal of Business Ethics, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, New Technology, Work and Employment, Revue Française de Gestion,@GRH. He has authored and co-authored 20 books including Critical Management Studies: Global voices, local accents (Routledge, 2016, with Chris Grey, Isabelle Huault and Véronique Perret), Management Humain (De Boeck, 2024, 3rd ed, with Anne Dietrich) or Télétravail, un mode de vie (SciencePo, 2025)."My goal is to contribute to bring back the "H"​ in HRM in order to develop a more responsible and respectful management. I conduct and supervise research in a critical perspective, investigating the limits of traditional management practices and theories, namely in terms of humanization. This led me to introduce and theorize "Humane Management / Management Humain."
