About Laurie Stephens

I am a developmental clinical psychologist who has specialized in the field of autism spectrum disorders for the past 30 years. I currently oversee all school-based clinical programs at The Help Group, in addition to developing and supervising all programs related to autism. I provide psychotherapy to autistic folks of all ages. I oversee the Kaleidoscope Program for LGBTQ+ youths, specializing in supporting the intersectionality of LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent identities. Additionally, I provide diagnostic evaluations for children and young adults suspected of having ASD, with a specialization in assessing gender diverse and transgender youth. I conduct a wide variety of trainings and workshops, geared toward both parents, educators and professionals focusing on topics such as how to be a neurodivergent-affirming therapist, promoting social-emotional development, best practices in educating autistic students and the impact of dual minority status for autistic LGBTQ+ youth.Specialties: Autism, Asperger's Disorder, LGBTQIA+, differential diagnosis, social skill development, behavior modification, educational design, curriculum & program development.
