About Lauryn Bailey
I am a senior at UNC Chapel Hill pursing a bachelors of science in Biology and a minor in Health and Society. I am a research assistant in the Purvis lab at the UNC School of Medicine to gain a better understanding on how cellular senescence arises in healthy cells by using Iterative Indirect Immunofluorescent Imaging (4i) and computational analysis. I am a Certified Nurse Aide in the state of North Carolina to gain experience and knowledge about the function of hospitals and patient care. I am employed by the UNC Hospitals in the flex pool and am confident and experienced in the emergency department, MPCU, and bed tower units. Understanding how cells make decisions and what influences physiological outcomes invigorates me to continue pursuing the unknowns particularly in under researched fields such as endometriosis and various female health conditions. I am interested in bioethics and desire to cultivate spaces and community to discuss difficult questions about inequalities in the healthcare system. I have a passion for pursuing the medical and clinical research field specializing in aid to females lacking proper medical care here and abroad.
