About Lauryn Hamernik

As a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Gundersen-Mayo-Marshfield Physician Assistant program, I am passionate about providing high-quality patient care and continuously expanding my medical knowledge while building confidence in my skills. I have had the opportunity to complete both rigorous didactic coursework and hands-on clinical experiences at Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic. During my first year, I gained foundational knowledge in many areas such as anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical medicine. This was complemented by my current clinical year where I am gaining direct patient interaction across a wide range of specialties, including, surgery, endocrinology, internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine and more. The variety of clinical rotations have allowed me to develop strong diagnostic and patient management skills, while enhancing my ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams. I am eager to put to use the clinical and academic knowledge I’ve gained from UWL, Mayo Clinic and Gundersen Health System to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field. My goal is to continue growing as a compassionate and skilled provider while using the skills that I have gained from my variety of experiences and passions. I am currently looking for a physician assistant role that will help me achieve these goals!
