About Lawrence Isaac
Lawrence Isaac, Jr, Ph.D, is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, and from Black Mesa, Navajo Nation (AZ). He has worked for the U.S. Interior Department from 1985 to 1990, as Education Program Administrator with 25 federally-recognized Native American Tribal groups; east of the Mississippi River. His work with the Seminole Tribe in Florida resulted in the construction and building of the Ahfache Middle School in 1990. His experience and background in working with diversified groups, i,e. President, Mashentucket Pequot Academy (Mystic, Connecticut), and assisted with its accreditation with the Connecticut Higher Education Department. Dr.Isaac served as Utah Trust Fund Administrator (Blanding, UT) and helped replenish the Fund to assist Utah Strip residents regarding with community projects for economic development and higher education funding opportunities. Since 2003, he has participated in the development and growth of Navajo Technical College as Dean of Student Services and other senior management appointments. In 2008, he was Convocation speaker at the First Nations University convocation in Canada. As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he spoke at the First Nations University Veterans Tepee dedication with First Nations tribal veterans. In April 2013, U.S. Homeland Security Administration that Navajo Technical University (NTU) was selected as one of seven colleges and universities for higher education campus and community resilience enhancement system development. Dr Isaac authored the Pilot Program Application and serves as it PI (Campus Coordinator). Currently, he is Director, NTU Campus Security Services. He served as Dean of Student Services at NTU during 2003-201. Dr. Isaac received his Doctorate in Educational Administration with a minor in Higher Education from the University of Arizona in1980. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years during early Vienam Era, and was honorably discharged and recommended for re-enlistment.
