About Lawrence Kosinski

After a long successful career as a Gastroenterologist that took me to a national leadership position, I turned my interest and energies to developing solutions for value-based care. I founded SonarMD in 2016 in an effort to develop the next generation of chronic care management for patients with high beta chronic disease. We developed a web-based patient engagement platform which has resulted in significant savings from decreasing hospitalization rates in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. SonarMD is now funded by the Blue Cross Venture Partner Fund and Arboretum Ventures and is contracted with multiple health plans. In 2022 I developed a new invention, an e-nose, a device that passively analyzes the air emitted with a bowel movement for volatile organic compounds (VOCs); which are produced when the gut microbiome ferments soluble fiber. This device can be used to monitor a patient's compliance with a high soluble fiber diet. It has broad applications including the monitoring of a diet that produces GLP-1. I am the CMO of Jona, an AI platform company that provides personalized microbiome solutions for users by continuously reading the medical literature around the microbiome and then tailoring the solution to a person's shotgun metagenomics profile. I have also been involved with the American Gastroenterological association and currently sit on its governing board as the Councilor for Development and Growth. I sit on the board of the Physician Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee an independent entity that reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. We routinely collaborate with the CMS and CMMI.
