About Lawrence Schrank

As an international technology strategist, Lawrence Schrank has worked for four decades in bringing together people, ideas, and financing to create new enterprises. He focuses on marketing alliances; venture financing and international strategy in the areas of 3D computing, visual processing, and interactive technologies. Schrank has served as Director of Industry Relations at the Center for Design Visualization at UC Berkeley and served for several years as Senior Technology Consultant to United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) China. He has advised organizations including Samsung, Silicon Graphics, Spatial Systems, Malaysian United Industries and The United Nations Development Programe (UNDP). Lawrence was one of the first employees of CYRA Technologies, an early developers of commercial 3D LIDAR technologies in the mid 90’s The Founder and Chairman of 3DBiometrics Inc, he wrote the first patent application on utilizing volumetric based 3D for human recognition. More recently he founded SaferKidz, offering 3D facial scanning and biographical information for children, all integrated into a web based parental controlled environment. The critical information can be quickly distributed in the event of an emergency. This program was implemented by the US Army. Lawrence also serves as a senior consultant advising developers of advanced 3D facial recognition technologies as well as shape recognition applications focusing on counter IED solutions. His early work was in hardware engineering, design and development at Sperry Univac, Beckman, Digital Equipment Corporation, JPL/NASA, Lockheed Corp, and Xerox PARC.
