About Laya Mathikshara

Laya Mathikshara is a 15 year old from India. She works in the interdisciplinary field of Art and Technology. She has been in the Web3 space for the past 2 years and has grossed over 1 million dollars from it. She started when she was 13, during the pandemic, she started working on digital art and minted them as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) for sale in cryptocurrencies. She has collaborated with SpaceX’s Inspiration 4 launch. The work was auctioned and she contributed the proceeds from it, over to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital for cancer research. She has also designed NFTs for cooperatives like PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and clubs like the Stanford Blockchain Club. She has been delivering speeches at conferences such as NFT NYC, MET AMS, Adobe Design Mix, and the “TN Web3 - Build Ahead” conducted by the Tamil Nadu government of India. She has also presented a guest lecture at the University of the Arts London and in Nas.io’s Web3 Community. She has also been quite enthusiastic about supporting women led and empowerment projects like World of Women. She has contributed her artworks to their collective. She directed and animated a short film “Gratitude” to show gratitude towards the doctors and the healthcare workers who stood there during the pandemic. It was nominated for “All American High School Film Festival” also known as the Oscar for teens, and “Busan Int'l Kids and Youth Film Festival” in partnership with UNESCO. The film has also been screened in the AMC Theater (busiest theatre in the world) in Times Square. Her artworks have been exhibited in various places across the world, such as: Art Basel Miami 2022, Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Ars Electronica Festival, ZeroSpace (New York), Nowhere (New York), Museum of Crypto Art (Metaverse), Times Square billboard (over 20 times), Atlantis Hotel (Dubai), Foundry (Dubai), Behnoode Foundation (Dubai), Liverpool (London) and Stratosphere (Beijing), India Art Fair and Bikaner House. She has put forth her works across Spain like the Guggenheim Museum, the Abando tourist office, and Plaza Sagrado, Corazón, and Campos Eliseos Theater. And across 20 airports in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, France, Japan, Portugal, and Serbia.
