Background

About Layne Conrad

I am a BA graduate from Acadia University with a major in Political Science and a strong commitment to public service and evidence-based policymaking. For the past year, I have worked as a government intern in Federal-Provincial-Territorial (FPT) Intergovernmental Affairs, where I have gained hands-on experience supporting intergovernmental collaboration and advancing policy priorities. In this role, I have contributed to preparing policy and briefing materials, developing trade profiles, and supporting the coordination of FPT meetings and files. I have also conducted policy research and analysis on a variety of issues. My work has helped me build a strong foundation in legislative processes, interjurisdictional coordination, and strategic communication within government. I am especially passionate about using these abilities to advance policies in the areas of public health, law and governance, and women’s health advocacy. I am now seeking to apply my experience and interests to policy analysis roles that contribute to impactful, collaborative, and forward-thinking public policy.
