About Laynton Allan

Dad, Passionate Educator, Entrepreneur, Leader. A bit about me; I have worn many hats across a diverse range of industry to date: Building a deep variety of skills in positions ranging from Registered Div 1 Nurse, Secondary School Teacher, Senior Level Sports Coach, Small Business owner and most recently as a Corporate. In addition to this, I have always had an entrepruenerial itch, spending 4 years moonlighting on passion projects in the tech development space with 'Take Me On' and 'Canteena Market'. Across all career sectors, I have often found myself in positions of leadership. As a leader I've learnt the following about myself- I am a passionate optimist- I don't care who gets credit. I want the team win- I enjoy finding the calm amongst the chaos- I have many ideas. Everyone does. Execution is what matters- Progress over perfection 80% of the time- Perfection of progress: 20% of the time- I must look after myself in order to look after others. My philosophy on leadership is simple- Together we are stronger. You're only as good as the people you surround yourself with. For me, this is why I believe that 'character' and 'chemistry' most often, trump ‘competence’ when working in a team environment. Re: KidsCo How did is all start: It was in my last job as a corporate that I noticed the all too common frustration of parents trying to plan quality, fun activities for their children in the school holidays whilst juggling their corporate demands.
