We don’t break down from stress because we’re weak. We break down because we’ve been strong too long. During my first education, I was signed off with stress. I completed it on reduced hours – but my body kept breaking down. Afterwards, I worked under the §56 scheme due to lasting effects. I struggled with many symptoms, but the most pronounced were: • Fatigue and microsleep • Difficulty concentrating and remembering • Tearfulness I began to doubt my future – and my doctor talked about supported employment. It wasn’t just a sick leave – it was an identity crisis. Everything I once managed effortlessly, I could no longer do with the same quality, speed or clarity. It wasn’t until studying psychomotor therapy that things began to change. There, I learned to work actively with my body. I learned to notice, understand and respond to what it told me – not only when it screamed, but already when it whispered. I found a language for what I felt – and the strength to act. A “no” to others became a “YES” to myself. My experience is a solid foundation – alongside my professional expertise.
