About Lea Ismail

I am a Master’s student in Biology and Health, specializing in Physiology at the University of Western Brittany, currently conducting my thesis at the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell, CNRS. My research focuses on the biophysical properties of cytoplasm, using advanced microscopy techniques such as particle tracking, lifetime, FRET, and FRAP to estimate cytoplasmic properties like viscosity and crowding in migrating cells. This work aims to decipher how these physical properties influence cellular migration. With a solid foundation in Biochemistry and hands-on expertise in cell culture and data analysis, my research interests span calcium signaling, ion channels and cardiovascular diseases with a growing focus on electrophysiology and pharmacology. I am deeply passionate about uncovering physiological mechanisms and developing therapies for complex diseases. I am eager to expand my perspective through international research collaborations and contribute to impactful scientific discoveries.
