About Lea Scarci

I am currently studying Nutrition and Food at Toronto Metropolitan University with hopes to continue to a Dietetic internship. My world in food began in the kitchen, progressing to culinary school where I had the opportunity to expand on my knowledge of food, and how to create recipes, and developed skills that have become integrated into my life in every way. I decided to return to school to bridge my education with nutrition as I feel strongly about understanding how nutrition and food can be a powerful tool in preventative medicine. I have discovered that I love to teach, and work with children and youth about food, and culinary techniques combined, my volunteer experiences have contributed to this discovery. I hope that, one day, I find myself in this work, helping people, and contributing to change in society around the subject of food and nutrition. So far, this degree has challenged me to critique systems in society, to understand the metabolic processes in the body and much more. I have grown more passionate over the years about this field and I look forward to exploring it further.
