About Lea Spitznagle
In high school, I took a career aptitude test that told me I should either be a speech-language pathologist or a puppeteer. After shadowing an area SLP and witnessing a preschool student light up when using a communication device, I knew that I belonged in the SLP field.(Sorry, puppeteers!) My professional interests include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), early intervention, executive function, neurodiversity-affirming therapy, and language acquisition of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. I thrive when I'm working with multi-modal communicators and enjoy collaborating with educators, caregivers, and interpreters to ensure speech and language growth in a variety of contexts.
