About Leah Bromfield

Professor Leah Bromfield is Director of the Australian Centre for Child Protection at the University of South Australia and Chair of Child Protection. She is one of Australia's leading researchers in the field of child abuse and neglect, with expertise across all aspects of preventing and responding to child abuse and neglect, child protection systems, child sexual abuse and children who display harmful sexual behaviours. Prof Bromfield has worked closely with government on establishing and implementing child welfare reforms, including Safe and Supported: The National Framework for Protecting Australia's Children, and the National Strategy for Preventing and Responding to Child Sexual Abuse. She was the Professorial Fellow to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse established by the Australian government and a Commissioner for the Tasmanian Commission of Inquiry into Ithe Tasmanian Government's Responses to Institutional Child Sexual Abuse. She is the Chair of the South Australian Child Protection Expert Group.
