About Leah Brown

I am a high school English teacher at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. I currently teach AP Literature and Composition, grade 9 CP English, and grade12 World Literature Honors courses. I also moderate multiple clubs, including Baking Club and Youth for Christ Club. Both clubs are active members of the Lehigh Valley community through service projects and fundraisers completed throughout the school year. I completed my Master of Arts in English Literary Studies with a specialization in Victorian Studies at the University of Exeter in November 2022 with a Distinction award. At Exeter, I published my first academic article in the university's postgraduate research journal, Exclamat!on. I was also a part of Postgraduate Society and Art Society. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in English with a specialization in Secondary Education at Misericordia University in May 2021 as the Class of 2021 Valedictorian (GPA 4.0). At Misericordia, I participated in multiple teaching practicum placements in both middle and high schools. I completed two 8-week student teaching placements during the COVID-19 pandemic, which provided experience with virtual and hybrid learning environments. I was part of many organizations while at Misericordia University, including Sigma Tau Delta (President), Kappa Delta Pi, Education Club (first-year mentor), Instress Literary Journal (writer and editor), Orientation Team (first-year leader), and the Misericordia Players. I also worked in Misericordia's Student Success Center as a Writing Center tutor/editor and in Lemmond Theater as a production work study.
