About Leah Daniel
Hello! My name is Leah and I am currently in my 4th year of 5 in the Materials and Biomedical Engineering (iBioMed) program at McMaster. My interest in science and engineering comes from the desire to use STEM as a tool for building a future that is equitable for all. I am passionate about mentorship, community engagement, and making education a safe and empowering environment. I am a Shad Canada and FIRST Robotics alum, which has driven me to continue with this spirit of engagement. I have had both wet lab and dry lab experience — the former in a Virology Research Lab, where I completed PCR testing and other tasks, and the latter in a self-initiated research project involving improving EEG outcomes for people of diverse hair types, which culminated in an extensive literature review. I am an incoming 16-month Project Engineering Intern at Septodont / Novocol Pharma (May 2025 start), where I am excited to apply my theoretical knowledge to the world of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
