About Leah Roue

I am passionate about education, process improvement, creating pathways to recognize learning both in the classroom and in industry, inspiring financial independence, using technology to promote learning and community, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the built environment, and volunteering to connect and learn about my community. I have a strong background in higher education program/curriculum development, construction project management, as well the network necessary to promote accessible programing and improved connections between industry, K-12, colleges, and universities. In 2018, I founded the local chapter of the ACE Mentorship Program of Southern Minnesota for area high school students to learn from industry experts about Architecture, Construction, Engineering (ACE). I have had the pleasure to operate as board chair since. In my position as an Associate Professor in Construction Management I imbue a sense of continuous development and independence upon my students. I truly believe there are five pillars to an education: industry experience, project-based learning, global opportunities, entrepreneurship, and service learning. My experience spans public and private education, k-12 through graduate program, private industry, and government agencies across multiple sites, including international projects. In addition to my undergraduate degrees in Architectural Drafting and Estimating and Industrial Education, I have also completed a master’s degree in Technical Education and a Ph.D. as a fellow in Work and Human Resource Development with a focus on Business and Industry.
