Background

About Leah Rumack

I'm a writer, editor and producer who has created every kind of content imaginable, from tv and podcast scripts to commercials and animated videos. I've recently wrapped a tasty stint as the food editor at Toronto Life and my second season as a story producer on VICE TV's Dark Side of the '90s, a role I also had on Efran Film's Charmed to Death and at CBC's Marketplace. I've been an associate producer for Saloon Media's paranormal show My Haunted Hometown, a writer for the Trailblazers podcast from Pacific Content and worked in development at Proper Television, Nomad Films and Catalyst. I'm also the co-creator of Pioneer Girl, a digital comedy television series in development that was a finalist at the Just For Laughs (RIP) Stand Up & Pitch competition. I wrote all of the 2020 Christmas commercials for Loblaws despite never having cooked a ham in my life and created over 50 animated shorts for Today's Parent, winning a silver at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards in the process. My copywriting clients include the Ontario Cannabis Store, TENA and Blue Ant Media. I've been nominated for six National Magazine Awards and have created stories and scripts about everything from anarchists and Chanel to vibrators and luxury cruises. My work has appeared in a long list of publications including The Globe and Mail, EnRoute, FASHION, Today's Parent, The Toronto Star, Elle, Chatelaine, The Kit, Refinery29, Best Health, re: porter and Reader's Digest. I've cooked up multi-platform content for corporate clients including Medela, Advil, McDonald's and Visit Orlando. As Deputy Editor of Today's Parent I oversaw content across all of its editorial and social platforms, was the brand specialist for toys, travel and books and wrote the popular #ThisIsMyLife comic. I'm a seasoned journalist, writer and producer with special interests in pop culture, travel and lifestyle content. I do a little standup comedy. I'm doing my best to sound incredibly boring in this description. Is it working?
