About Leah Smith

I am Leah Smith, a fourth-year marketing student in the French Immersion stream at uOttawa’s Telfer School of Management. I’ve also recently added a special option in Business Analytics to my degree. In addition to my studies, I’m also enrolled in the university’s co-op program. As a result of my work terms as well as other endeavors, I’ve developed a strong passion and skill set for social media and digital marketing. My experiences at both Compass and the National Arts Centre have focused heavily on content creation, specifically video content for Instagram and TikTok. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the process, from the planning stage to the filming of the video to analyzing the content’s performance. In addition to social media, I’ve also become very proficient in email marketing and campaign planning. While practicing in any of these marketing disciplines, I’m sure to connect all my work back to overarching company strategy and goals.As I near the end of my degree and look to move forward in my career, I’m hoping to continue exploring the path of social media. I’m also hoping to expand upon my existing academic learnings in business analytics and to better explore the intersection of marketing and design. While I’m unsure of my exact career path, I’m excited to learn lots on my journey and looking forward to seeing where I end up.
