Background

About Leandi Erasmus

I am energetic, enthusiatic and I thrive on challenges. I have had an interesting career path that entailed both clinical work as well as community development and politics. I have been actively involved in individual and group therapeutic intervention, counselling and community development my entire career. Empowering, building and uplifting and developing people have always been the core of what I do in whichever context I find myself. It has defined my life since I was a pre-grad student, and it still does. I have mentored many youths who have worked hard for a better future for themselves and they are still my inspiration. I am an experienced social worker and therapist, but I also have years of senior management experience where I have directed everything from financial planning and staff, to designing and execution of community based programmes. I have served in a number if political positions where I had to engage in negotiation, networking, lobbying and advocacy. I am a very proud South African, who feel strongly that my contribution to the country must help shape its future.
