Background
About Leanne Annis
Philosophy Many challenges and hurdles have confronted me in my lifetime that I have had confront in order to survive. Because of these life-changing events, many of my life goals and ideals have changed, so I know that my philosophical ideals will change a bit. However, because I believe that all children deserve to live life to the fullest and protected to the best of my ability, I have based my ideals on this philosophy. My “non-negotiable” ideals are for not only students, but staff as well. Everyone at the entire school should feel safe from physical, emotional, spiritual, and verbal abuse and harm. I believe that teachers need to be life-long learners. Every student deserves the best education possible while teaching them to respect themselves, staff, and each other. I believe that every person deserves to be treated justly and fairly. It is necessary that all students learn at their own maturity level and grade capacity and not by their grade level. Learning should be fun, structured and in an inviting, caring, and nurturing environment. Students need to learn and feel that I am there to help guide them so that they can continue with their education if they so desire it. Moreover, I believe that I need to become a professional educator. By being a professional educator, I will be a life long learner. I will be firm, fair, and consistent with all of my students. Lastly, I will strive to be as effective teacher as I can be. I know that times and attitudes change, but I also know that by coming to realize my philosophical ideals at this stage in my life, they are pretty basic and down to the bottom line, as was said in class, my “non-negotiable” ideals for what makes a great educator. I also realize that had I not jumped the hurdles of life and survived, that these ideals might be different, but I am hoping that the basic goals that I have set for myself are what most educators set and strive for themselves during their teaching careers.
