Licensed Principal Master Instructor MHFA since 2019 with over 120 courses delivered(Standard, Youth, Blended Online courses) Specialising in Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Community, EducationMental Health professional,consultant, speaker, facilitator, author Developing strong relationships is the foundation of everything Leanne does, both professionally and personally.” Recipient of an Australia Day Award in 2019 for her contribution to community, Leanne understands the importance of being able to make a lasting, positive impact on society. Leanne’s work and volunteering with a range of community groups and organisations allows her to engage with the diverse population within Gippsland and to speak about the health issues and barriers specific to this region. As a Mental Health Educator with Lifeline Gippsland Leanne is passionate about the need to shift the focus from illness to wellness and from despair to hope and recovery. We need to encourage the self, where people draw on their own strengths and the resources of their families and friends, because this supports communities as well as individuals. Leanne believes systems must support whole communities to maintain good health and wellbeing and to be resilient when faced with challenges in life. Leanne is involved in a number of active community development groups Leanne’s philosophy is we are all on this journey together, at least, we should be. The journey can progress smoothly only if responsibility for health and wellbeing goes beyond health service providers. We need community leaders to implement and champion change. As well as authoring two books, regularly speaking on radio Leanne also spoke in Dubai in October 2023 on the importance of education the girl child as part of the Milestones International Conclave.
