I am profoundly committed to helping people connect with their inherent strengths and discover passions that inspire them to achieve greatness. Everyone possesses the potential to accomplish extraordinary things, yet many overlook the importance of identifying what truly excites and motivates them. Instead, they often focus on titles and financial gains, seeking external validation of their worth. In the accounting industry, this tendency is even more pronounced, with a strong emphasis on role progression and monetary rewards. I observe many colleagues crafting career plans centered solely on title advancement and immediate financial benefits. When these aspirations are not met at a rapid pace, frustration and self-doubt ensue. The result - no one seems to be enjoying the process of growth and development! At the same time, many people are actually lacking any clarity at all on what they are growing towards. I will often ask people the question "what do you want to be doing five years from now" and they will answer with a role or title. When I encourage them to think beyond the role or title and tell me what they will actually doing on a day-to-day basis, they often are not able to answer that question. It is my goal to fix this problem. My intention is not to devalue the importance of role progression and financial reward. While these elements are crucial milestones on the path to success, I strongly believe that the focus should be on defining one's purpose, creating a life vision, and understanding what will make each day fulfilling. Know what is going to make you jump out of bed excited to start every single day. Love what you do first. Role progression and financial reward will naturally follow. A team driven by the pursuit of meaningful impact in their community and the lives of those around them operates with a different energy and dedication than one solely focused on titles and monetary gains.
