About Lee Ashdown

While studying at Brockenhurst College I started part-time work in the catering industry. At the same time my interest in DJing was growing. In 1997 I took an opportunity to DJ professionally by joining an entertainment company. Over a 15 year period I provided mobile DJ services for private parties and Modern Jive dance events. In July 2012 I was made redundant. In the following months I began to think about a career change. In November/December 2012 I did some voluntary work at Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre for UK Youth. Through the Job Centre I then spent 6 months working as a Linen Porter/Room Attendant. I continued working with the Job Centre Careers Advice service and found a definite interest in wanting to help people. After researching Job Profiles, more voluntary work and several job vacancies, my second application led me to The Sheiling Ringwood SEN School, College and Children's Home. I supported children and young adults who have complex learning and social needs for 5 years. In January 2019 I started a new challenge taking on two roles as part of the team at Fairmile Grange. A Residential Nursing & Dementia Care Home in Christchurch, Dorset.
