About Lee Buchwald
I founded Buchwald Capital Advisors, a boutique financial advisory firm, in 2001. I specialize in bankruptcies and restructurings serving as a trustee, fiduciary, independent director, corporate officer, and financial advisors to creditors. I’ve been appointed or retained in more than 50 transactions since inception. My investment banking career spans over three decades including executive positions at Rothschild Inc, Salomon Brothers and Chanin Capital Partners. In addition to restructurings, I’ve done M&A, public and private securities placements, valuations, and fairness opinions in a broad range of industries. As Chapter 7 Trustee of Magnesium Corp. of America I pioneered the innovative use of litigation finance in bankruptcy. I conducted an auction in bankruptcy court of a $50M interest in a judgement on appeal to a prominent litigation funder for $26.2M.
