About Lee Copeland

I have a BFA degree in Applied Media Arts with a focus in both film and computer animation from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, along with a minor in geography. Upon completion of my studies, I left EUP with a practical and thorough knowledge of Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production skills in film, television, 3D animation, and digital effects. 3D animation became a passion of mine while studying film. I've worked in all stages, from storyboarding, all the way through to the final assembling of an animated piece. I co-directed a 3D animated short that I storyboarded, helped create both the animatic, previz, and final version of, as well as edited every version along it's progress. I also successfully delegated tasks to the animators and modelers, monitored progress, and came up with creative solutions for any of the problems that arose. I come to you with 6 years of extensive video editing and camera operating experience, ranging from story based film, documentary, 3D animation, and short form for broadcast television. Most recently, I have been working as a professional videographer / video editor at WJET TV 24 (ABC affiliate). By combining my experience in film and 3D animation, I've also created the digital effects for an independent feature film, and a wide variety motion graphics for private parties using a variety of programs. I am well rounded with a large variety of computer programs, and have an unending desire to learn. Many of the skills I've acquired bridging the gap between film and animation, I have learned on my own. Listening, taking direction, and knowing how to be part of a team all come naturally to me. I constantly seek to eliminate issues before they arise. I am resourceful enough to solve most problems on the spot, but am never afraid to ask for help when in need.
