Have worked in the trucking industry since 1973 (45 years) as a driver, driving instructor (behind-the-wheel & classroom), and safety consultant. As of February 2014, employed as the Executive Director of the Delaware Motor Transport Association, Inc. Taught at Delaware Technical Community College's Commercial Transportation Program 1987-2011. Responsibilities included co-authoring the current curriculum (PTDI Certified), student advisement, and student placement-in addition to instructional duties. As a member of the Commercial Transportation faculty trained licensing examiners from the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles to administer CDL skills tests. Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as they pertain to drivers is extensive. Retired from Delaware Tech in 2011 and went the self-employment route providing safety services to the trucking industry. Services provided include safety meetings/programs, multi-media productions/presentations, and video/photographic services. Employed part-time as adjunct instructor at Delaware Tech. Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1969 to 1972 and holding the rank of Staff Sergeant at discharge. Military experience includes 15 months in Vietnam with the 12th. Reconnaissance Intelligence Technical Squadron (12 RITS) at Tan Son Nhut Air Base. Duties included supervision of personnel under stressful conditions in a combat zone.
