I possess superb investigative, intelligence-gathering, and surveillance skills thanks to my immigration law expertise and my background as a deportation officer, air marshal, and border patrol agent. I’m highly effective at gathering critical information/evidence and specialize in conducting complex and sensitive investigations that require out-of-the-box methods to resolve problems. I also have a gift for reading people and strong situational awareness whose seeds were planted by my father, who raised me with a very strong work ethic and taught me that the only person who is going to get me through life is myself. This, plus my relationship-building skills, helps me meld people with strong personalities that would normally clash into cohesive, mission-focused teams. I’m equally able to work independently, thanks to the strong instincts (“inner voice”) I developed and learned to trust while working field tracker assignments during my time as a Border Patrol agent. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: • As a deportation officer, I built a strong network of all local/regional law enforcement departments, including those in sanctuary cities, that delivered criminal non-nationals into ICE custody and, ultimately, secured their deportation. • As a Border Patrol agent, I used my forensic science background to secure a rare felony human smuggling conviction and avoid a chain-of-custody failure by methodically photographing and documenting the vehicle seized. This process is now standard practice with all vehicle property seizures. • During my tenure as an air marshal, I worked with colleagues and management to decrease the incidence of suicide among federal air marshals by establishing an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). • NATIONAL SECURITY/CUSTOMS EXPERTISE: Belgium | Canada | Central and South America | Dominican Republic | Ethiopia | Haiti | Jordan | Mexico | United Kingdom When I’m not working, I’m actively involved with my children’s sports.
