About Lee Hancox

I am a CFP® professional with over 28 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Having worked at various companies and within various roles during my time in the industry, I have a wealth of experience to draw from. I have a powerful desire to create positive change, and am working towards becoming a strong and authentic voice in local media, telling stories I believe could financially empower South Africans from all walks of life. The experiences I share are a culmination of my 28 years’ experience in financial services and more importantly lessons from the University of Life. I hold a Post Graduate diploma in Financial Planning as well as an Advanced Post Graduate diploma in Financial Planning, specialising in Estate Planning, both from UFS. I started my career at grassroots level, working my way slowly through the ranks, gaining invaluable exposure to many facets of the financial services industry. My roles have included policy services clerk, sales support assistant, broker consultant, regional marketing manager, and product specialist, amongst others. During my time as a Broker Consultant at Sanlam, I qualified for the international convention twice. In 2014, in my role as a trainer in the Distribution Academy, I received the Sanlam Training Programme of the Year award for the TCF Awareness course, which was presented to advisers and brokers throughout Sanlam. My diverse experience gives me a unique and practical perspective of the SanlamConnect environment, and thus sets the perfect foundation for my current role, Head of Channel and Segment Marketing at SanlamConnect, a position I have held since January 2018.
