About Lee Herbert

I am currently a 3rd year student at Swansea university studying towards a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, accredited by IMechE. Currently seeking a placement opportunity for my Year in industry with the long term aim of achieving Chartered Engineer status and to obtain employment as a practising mechanical engineer. I enjoy the practical and design requirements of the degree, and the profession, as well as being in a competitive environment. I would describe myself as being polite, hardworking, professional, and trustworthy. MEng Mechanical Engineering (with a year in industry), Prifysgol Swansea University Engineering Education Scheme Wales I was the lead engineer and designer, coordinating a team of 4 students to manufacture the solution. Our team gained a Gold Crest award for designing and constructing an automatic probe calibration stand that overhauled the efficiency of probe calibration without the external influences that normally prevent accurate readings being obtained. This redesigned the way the company now calibrates its probes which expanded its testing process and spearheaded its improvement in efficiency. This allowed me to gain numerous skills including leadership, teamwork, attention to detail, tenacity, and communication, whilst using design software to fulfil the process of designing the product as well as solving setbacks within the design.
