1962-7 career began with IBM as Senior Systems Engineer, Advanced Application Development Specialist and Sales Rep. Founder and CEO, Turnkey Systems Inc. Early software products company specializing in software used in the development of on-line transaction processing systems. After acquisition by National CSS in 1979 (which was almost immediately acquired in turn by Dun & Bradstreet) ran the Software Products Group until 1984. During this time built the group through the acuisitions of Program Products Inc, Synergetics, McCormack & Dodge and others. In 1984 founded Vanguard Atlantic Ltd, an investment banking firm that initially specialized in buy-side strategic planning for large corporations (NYNEX, National Semiconductor, Coopers & Lybrand, etc.). In 1985 Vanguard Atlantic did its first private equity deal and over the next four years it gradually exited the investment banking business in favor of leveraged private equity. From 1988-1990 after the acqisition of the public company Information Sciences Inc.(InSci) acted as its CEO, up to its sale to Computer Associates. From 1992-95 became acting CEO of the Netherlands Antilles parent of ECsoft, a $50mm start-up focused on pan-European software sales and supports. Four years in France at ECsoft headquarters in Lyon. ECsoft went public on the NASDQ in 1997. In 1995 founded Axolotl Inc, today a premier supplier of Health Information Exchange (HIE) systems with over physician users. During its start-up phase, from 1995-1998 acted as Axolotl's CEO. Acquired in 2010 by United Health Group's Ingenix division. In 2011 became lead investor and board member in Clinithink, Ltd. a natural-language text to SNOMED software and services provider. Vanguard Atlantic's investment portfolio includes direct and indirect investments (where it acts as limited and sometimes co-general partner in other funds).
