About Lee Magee

I've spent the past six years at Mood Designer Fabrics, building their online presence through their blog, email marketing, and social media platforms. I worked directly with our lead buyer to decide which products would be featured and pushed through marketing campaigns and related blog content. In addition, I built, designed, and relaunched Sewciety, Mood's virtual center for all things fashion, trends, and sewing. There, I closely followed trends within the fashion industry and designed apparel, as well as accompanying sewing patterns, to be featured across various platforms and advertising. Needless to say, this role has kept me immersed in the fashion industry, whether that means planning runway shows and events during NYFW and NYCC or darting around the city to photograph designs. In the past, I've worked with The Climate Group, where I helped with social media as well as wrote news and blog posts across multiple platforms, focusing on New York climate and clean energy in an effort to promote Climate Week NYC 2013. I've held numerous social media and marketing internship positions and even helped teach a class on multimedia tools of journalism and communication, focusing mainly on video editing. During my senior year, I also worked as the multimedia intern for my school's Office of Institutional Advancement, where I wrote articles, produced videos, and photographed events in order to prompt alumni and beneficiaries to donate more to the college.
