About Lee Pickford

During my employment at Hanson I led an initiative to develop a cross channel dry weather flow channel system in the base of concrete Box culverts. This was to not only aid self cleansing of the culverts, but to increase flow capacity and feed multiple rows of box culverts, quickly and effectively. I was responsible for securing a multi million pound (£) order for drainage at the London Olympic sites, satisfying the strict Olympic Delivery authority requirements on carbon emissions and sustainability. I led the move to implement the new BS8500 design codes (2006) into box culvert design at Hanson, working with the Engineering department, to train the sales team and customers to the effects the new code would have on the specific products. While at Marshalls (stancliffe Stone) I was involved in the stone cladding element of Marshalls 2009 RHS chelsea flower show garden. The Garden featured a glimpse into the life of a modern, urban housing development with a theme of creating 'better landscapes' for urban areas. Marshalls where awarded the Silver-Gilt medal for their Garden. I made a positive contribution to FP McCanns position in the UK Box Culvert market, during my employment.
