About Lee Robinson

I have seen the physiotherapy world from various angles over the last 40 years. It was a great achievement actually getting into the college (Remedial Gymnast College at Pinderfields Hospital) which saw three years training, the third ‘on the road’ in Leicestershire before the RG world amalgamated with the physiotherapy world in 1985, qualifying as a chartered physiotherapist two years later. I spent 11 years in the NHS at three Yorkshire hospitals before going full time private practice in 1998, eventually ‘going it alone’ in 2007 when Physiowise was set up in Wakefield In that time I have worked in sole private practice, industry, GP practices, occupational health and between 1998 and 2012 I had my own manual handling training business (Healthwise) which took me far and wide in nursing and care homes delivering the training package I had devised Rugby league, sport and contact injuries has always been a passion and taken up 30 years of my working life. In that time I have worked at various levels in the game from schools teams to international level recognition overseas, with Wakefield Trinity being my first role and love I closed my private practice in 2021 after 14 years, ending 23 years of self employment. I then worked full time for a private primary care company, which wasn’t ideal for me as it was virtual with 80% phone work … which highlighted the changing role of the profession … I then worked one day a week in Occupational Health physio at a local steel works, which went into liquidation in Nov 2024 which brought the end to my 40yr physiotherapy career. I am now enjoying retirement in the country with our dogs and chickens … with time for my health and hobbies (Rugby League history research, writing and running ‘Trinity Heritage’). I am also secretary to Wakefield Trinity RL Past Players Association, a rewarding role helping our ex-players
