About Lee Stanton

A 27 year law enforcement veteran, Lee Stanton is a serving member with a large municipal police agency serving over 1 million people. Lee currently the Sergeant of the Public Safety Unit within the Major Events and Management Section. Following 2 years as the Acting Staff Sergeant of that section. He spent 4 years as the Sergeant in Charge of the Officer Safety Team within the training section, responsible for overseeing the delivery of instruction in officer safety, subject control/annual qualifications, CEW, driver training and patrol officer casualty management training. In 2018, Lee was one part of 7 members Patrol Less Lethal working group in 3 months the team certified 80 patrol personnel on the Arwen Less Lethal system for operational use. An active member of the Public Safety Unit. For 16 years he has been a less lethal/munitions team leader/supervisor for the Unit, serving as the Unit's training coordinator for 2009-2010. Which included planning, coordinating and facilitating of the annual multi-agency scenario based training. Lee has served as an ground incident commander for Special Events, protests, Calgary Stampeders football and filled various operational positions including Duty Staff for the Calgary Stampede and the Big Valley Jamboree Music Festival. He has significant experience with logistics, planning deploying and commanding large events/festivals. Lee has been a physical skills instructor for Raptor Protection & Safety Services Inc. since 2007. He has delivered personal safety, communication and physical skills training for law enforcement, and private industry. He has significant experience in course design and instructional techniques having built numerous courses throughout his training career. Lee is a Senior Master Taser Instructor/ Conducted Energy Weapons SMR with Axon since 2017.
