About Lee Sun

As the VP Manufacturing and Irvine Site Head at MicroPort, I lead a diverse and talented team of professionals in managing all aspects of the Irvine facility, including HR, Finance, Facility, EHS, Quality, and Manufacturing. I have over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, with a focus on coronary stents, catheter development, drug delivery, anti-thrombogenic coating, and polymer materials. My mission is to drive growth and innovation by developing and delivering cutting-edge product solutions that meet the unmet needs of customers and patients. I have led or contributed to the development of more than 10 polymer material and medical device product lines, including drug-eluting embolization micropheres which was successfully divested to Boston Scientific, and nano-coated COBRA PzF coronary stent which received PMA and CE Mark approvals. I am also skilled in lean six sigma, operational excellence, program management, and IP management, and hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a JD. I am passionate about building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
