About Lei Hookano

Lei Hookano possesses over 9 years of experience within the surf industry. Having grown up in Orange County—the ground zero of action sports brands—she is highly familiar with surf and skate cultures. In her time with Hurley, Lei has worked closely with industry leaders Pat O’Connell and Evan Slater, taking on brand building projects like delivery of the $1.5M 2017 Hurley Pro World Tour event, events for the re-launch of the Hurley Women’s line; becoming an integral part of the Sports Marketing team. Lei has managed product seeding, gifting and contract fulfillment for a roster of over 180 amateur and professional athletes, including 4x World Champion Carissa Moore, 2x World Champion John Florence, as well as a roster of influencers. Additionally, Lei has lead teams through brand heat events and signature product launches, which required marketing artistic direction and exportation on social channels. Lei is a highly experienced and talented strategist in marketing and partnerships. She has ensured any athletes who received their quarterly drops were in their product for shoots—as well as ensuring fit. She sourced boxes, handled budgets, and compiled lists that she personally sent out. She created boxes for sale and gifting for celebrities/athletes/special friends. Lei's experience also includes unboxing for athletes and celebrities to post on their channels for them to repost. Additionally, Lei has worked with photographers and provided art direction on shoots for specific events, and also possesses experience with Adobe Creative Suite (strong with Photoshop, Intermediate with InDesign, and is comfortable with Illustrator). Unfortunately, Lei was part of a massive company layoff and is now immediately available to start a new full-time opportunity. Lei is skilled in building and fostering strong relationships, with the ability to communicate effectively on all levels of an organization. While her professional experience with social is green, she is determined, excels in resourcefulness, and is a truly quick learner.
