About Leia Morit

EDUCATOR I possess a Bachelor's Degree of Education at the University of British Columbia, completed in 2020. I have a specialization in English Literature, but also have a passion for and experience teaching languages, such as Japanese, French, Spanish, and Latin. I have extensive teaching experience from tutoring, teaching in a classroom and working withs students with extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports and student council. I currently work as an educational facilitator for the modern languages department and teacher at RC Palmer Secondary, teaching Spanish and English literature across various grade levels. FOOD I have a personal passion for food and cuisine, and have even spent some time working in professional kitchens. I am an ambitious home cook, and love to experiment with techniques, flavours, and cultural foods. Although I am lactose-intolerant, I take it as a challenge to see how dairy can be substituted in food and push myself to be creative in the kitchen to find alternatives and solutions to my own digestive limitations! Although, this does not stop from indulging when the occasion arises. WRITER I have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, with specialization in English Literature, and I aspire one day to write professionally. I've always been passionate about texts, such as books and film, and do creative writing in my free time. As English is my second language, reading, experiencing, and interacting with texts were always my pathway to culture and other worlds and ideas outside of my limited understanding of the world.
