About Leif Petersen
Prior to university I spent far too much time with computers, starting with an 8088 XT and a 2400 baud modem. I surfed bulletin board systems (BBS’s) long before I got on to the internet. I played around with everything from open-source operating systems to ray tracing software (POVRAY). In 2006 I entered university to study physics, it seemed to be only way to invent a warp drive. In the process I learned that nature is amazing, and textbooks are probably overpriced. I didn’t end up inventing warp drive; after getting my degree I opted to join the real world. It’s apparently considered good form to repay your student loans after all. In 2013 I got a part time job at Pacific Truss building walls so I could save money for travelling. I ended up staying, in time becoming a floor designer, and finally a Home Package Design Coordinator. While my tensor calculus is a little rusty, I have most of Simpson Strong Tie’s connectors memorized!
