About Leigha Banton

I studied Computer Animation at The University of Bedfordshire and graduated in 2015 with a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Computer Animation Technology. This experience not only taught me the basics behind computer animation but it also gave me confidence and taught me to be independent. Thanks to my course I was able to receive basic knowledge of Lua, C++ and Python coding as well as basic knowledge in character design and 3D modelling. For a brief time, I also learnt how to use Corona to code and design my own mobile game. This was a really enjoyable experience that required me to be creative.During my time at university I took a strong interest in character modelling and ended up writing a dissertation on facial expressions for computer generated character models. I enjoyed this assignment as it involved a lot of fun experiments and research on facial expressions.Whilst attending university I also worked part time at GAME. This job was not just enjoyable but it was also educational as everyday there was always something new to know or learn. This job also helped me gain confidence in myself and allowed me to talk to others about gaming, which is something I have a strong interest in.As an employee in customer service, whether it was my old job at GAME or my current job as a IT analyst for Fujitsu, I always try to provided great customer service. As a person I am always willing to learn so I don’t not hesitate to ask others for help. I welcome both good and bad criticism from my colleagues so I can learn from my mistakes, be better and do better. As much as I like modelling and design work, I also like the idea of coding. As I already have basic knowledge in Lua, C++ and Python coding, I decided start learning how to code in HTML to create and design websites. The ability to code and design something at the same interests me and I hope to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to proceed with a career in Web Design.
