About Leighton Cook

I’m a purpose-driven MBA student at Lipscomb University with a passion for entrepreneurship, marketing, and faith-based leadership. Along with this, I am a part of Lipscomb’s softball team. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Business Management and a minor in Marketing from LeTourneau University, where I also played collegiate softball. My leadership journey has been shaped by many things, but none more than my parents, my faith in Jesus Christ, and the game of softball. As a collegiate athlete, I carry with me the grit, discipline, and teamwork learned on the field—qualities that guide me in the classroom, in business, and in life. In 2023, I helped launch Bigfoot General Store, my family’s convenience store and gas station in rural Oklahoma. I now continue to manage operations remotely, overseeing everything from payroll and scheduling to vendor relationships, pricing, and customer experience. Through both academic and real-world projects, I’ve also gained experience in brand strategy and creative marketing. At the heart of everything I do is a desire to serve others with humility and boldness, while staying true to who I am in Christ. I believe business is a powerful tool for impact, and I strive to use my gifts to empower others and build communities marked by excellence, purpose, and faith. Recently, I started a podcast (UnderQualified and OverOpinionated) where I use my voice to both empower others through God’s Word and share my thoughts on various topics. I’ve been honored to receive awards in entrepreneurship and leadership and have served as a student leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the School of Business Advisory Council (LETU). Whether I’m managing a business, leading a Bible study, playing softball, recording a podcast, or working alongside a team, I’m committed to doing the next right thing and making a lasting difference—one decision, one relationship, and one act of faith at a time.
