About Leila Thomas

I am a dedicated, dependable, and highly analytical professional with nearly five years of experience in the bioprocessing industry. My expertise encompasses a wide range of departments and roles, including Research & Development, Quality Control, Applications Science, and Method Development & Validation. I graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and have accumulated valuable experience in laboratory quality assurance and the healthcare sector. My quick-learning capabilities and highly motivated work ethic have enabled me to develop strong analytical skills that are transferable across multiple roles in the scientific sector. This is evidenced by my progression across departments at Purolite. Currently, I hold a leadership role in the newly established Method Development and Validation department, where I supervise a team and drive innovative solutions to enhance our processes. My determined mindset and strive for excellence are exhibited academically through the achievement of outstanding grades and athletically through my progression in elite international netball age-groups. I have twice represented Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games (2018 and 2022) and co-captained Wales in a trial series against New Zealand and South Africa. These experiences have honed my leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills, which I seamlessly apply to my professional roles in the bioprocessing industry.
