About Leith Biddell

With almost 30 years of distinguished service in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and my post Australian Defence Force (ADF) career within the Defence Industry, I have a wealth of strategic leadership, operational management and business development expertise. As a former RAAF Wing Commander, I held various roles from Aircrew Systems Operator to leading intelligence operations at HQ Air Command and serving as a Liaison Officer with the USAF. Transitioning to the private sector, I honed my expertise in Operations Management and now serve as a consultant at Omni Executive. My career highlights my adaptability, communication, leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration and ability to foster growth and success. My time in the ADF honed my abilities in organisational leadership, management and communication, with a focus on capability development, service delivery and combat operations support. Notable achievements include spearheading the modernisation of key Defence systems, advocating for intelligence requirements and facilitating strategic partnerships across industry and military domains. Transitioning to Defence Industry roles post-military further enriched my skill sets, particularly in BD, relationship management and strategic analysis. My extensive experience in Defence and Defence Industry settings positions me as a trusted advisor and leader capable of driving operational excellence and achieving strategic objectives. As a masters qualified leader, I have a proven track record of leading teams through complex operational and capability development challenges. My leadership style is respectful and well-practiced, focusing on driving teams to achieve organisational objectives with excellence. My attention is firmly placed on creating a positive team culture, while leading change. I am committed to continuous improvement and professional development, as showcased by my graduation from the Defence Teaming Centre’s Defence Industry Leadership Program. Additionally, I am an active member of the Australian Industry & Defence Network - SA Committee and the AICD. Passionate about Veteran advocacy and industry networking, my success in strategic planning and operations management stems from my ability to understand the mindset and needs of those serving within the ADF and translating that into strategic growth opportunities for the Defence Industry as a whole. Through my keen interest in networking, Australian Industry Capability (AIC) promotion and supply chain engagement, my focus lies on the advancement of the Defence Industry.
