About Lela Lantz

Highly energetic individual with 8+ years' international experience looking to use my skills in project design and qualitative research to assist people in developing countries overcome poverty. After Peace Corps I stayed in Bangladesh and worked with local and international nonprofit organizations doing mostly cross-cultural education and program assistance. In my current position with the Georgia Department of Public Health my main job is qualitative research as I interview people with Covid-19 and document their experiences and needs. To support my passion for women’s international development, I recently obtained my MA in Cultural Anthropology with a focus on assisting rural Bangladeshi women establish entrepreneurships with the help of various types of community support. In graduate school, I found that I really enjoy project design and qualitative research. In addition to the research papers, I completed two project designs for courses, both to assist rural Bangladeshi women gain economic empowerment through entrepreneurships. Furthermore, I have presented my capstone research at two conferences so far and hope to continue spreading awareness of rural Bangladeshi women and obtain further support for their endeavors. Now I would like to put my experiences of living in Bangladesh, my work with NGOs, and the skills I learned in school all together and dive deep into working with the rural Bangladeshi women (and those in other countries) and assist them in becoming financially successful.
