About Leland Merrill

Compassion, curiosity and creativity are values of mine that I bring to all therapeutic relationships. Central to my work is understanding that every person has many parts (logical/cognitive, emotional, spiritual, physical, etc.), which at times may cause internal conflict. We will work together to identify and honor these parts, helping the client to more authentically know themselves while increasing overall balance and well-being. With each client I use a variety of modalities to understand the impacts of trauma (whether the impact is significant, small, or somewhere in between). We look at how the impact has played out, be it depression, anxiety, addiction, and/or physical manifestations of pain. Through compassionate observation, we'll work together to heal what is hurting. I specialize in addiction (in all of its various forms) and work within the LGBTQIA+ community. As a trans person myself, I specialize in treatment of trans* individuals (transgender, non-binary, agender, fluid, gender queer, etc.) and may provide medical referral services if requested. I am committed to honoring intersecting identities (including age, race, gender, sexuality, etc.) in support of the whole person.
