About Lemuel Wade

Hello everyone! I have been working in the entertainment industry for about 20 years as a professional singer/actor. I have toured through Europe as a musical theater performer, a back up singer for mIC (Men In Creation-signed to Chet Records/Sony) and even did a quick backup for Ozzy Osborne on a German television show. I have also performed in Opera and have used my voice as a classically trained singer in oratorio and recitals as well. I have transitioned to director. In January of 2011 I directed Porgy and Bess for University of Kentucky Opera Theater. I directed Cincinnati Opera's first ever production of Porgy and Bess in it ninety-two year history in June of 2012. I directed the world premier of MRS. PRESIDENT, by the composer Victoria Bond. A concert version was done at Symphony Space in NYC and a staged concert version was done at Anchorage Opera this past October. We are very much interested in developing a fully realized stage version with a professional opera company. 2014, directed Porgy and Bess for Opera de Montreal. Directed HARRIET TUBMAN WHEN I CROSSED THAT LINE TO FREEDOM, world premiere of the Chamber Opera at the Irondale Center, Brooklyn, NYC Upcoming, May 2014 world concert premiere of THE SUMMER KING at Portland Ovations, Portland, Maine. I am looking forward to continuing this new and exciting direction in my career. I also help produce benefit concerts for the organization Water Is Life-Kenya.
