About Len Wright

My philosophy is individuals and families are successful when partnerships are built, not just at the local level, but nationally and globally. My leadership roles include bringing positive changes to communities through teaching self awareness with an emphasis on primary and secondary prevention education programs which challenge inequities, fighting poverty and developing improvement through diversity and inclusion. My professional experiences and educational background demonstrate the importance of communities and leadership qualities combined with my professional skills include my Bachelor's Degree in Community Health & Development B.G.S. from the University of Kansas and continuing education at Kansas City Kansas Community College, with License in Addictions Counseling (LAC) program. My main goals are to provide services to those underserved individuals and families in our communities using empathy, compassion and acceptance while working toward social change currently surrounding the stigma of substance abuse and mental health disorders. My leadership qualities also include advocating and working for non-profit organizations serving as Secretary on the ECKAN Board of Directors of Northeast Kansas and working for families from many diverse cultures.My enhanced business background experiences and professional career was enhanced through working with non-profit organizations, e.g. the Douglas County AIDS Project as Outreach Education Coordinator and serving 10 years on the DCAP Board of Directors, United Way, Lawrence Kansas and volunteering for other non-profit organizations, e.g, Just Foods- Harvest Festival, Heartland Shares Food Bank at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lawrence, KS (via Distribution for Harvester's) Topeka, KS. My professional business leadership qualities, exceptional work experience, personal drive and many achievements gained from my personal dedication me to continue fighting for social change, advocate against racial inequities, fighting poverty and promoting diversity inclusion.
