About Lena Garcia

I am hoping to build a career that will allow me to draw on my experience and passion of working with people experiencing crisis or people who are socially excluded by providing support and advocacy so they may become self-sufficient and successful. I have a strong background working with low-income families and a diverse population. I also have experience working with children and families with disabilities, chemical dependencies and mental health issues. While gaining more exposure and hands-on experience in the social service field it is my goal to attend graduate school and obtain my MSW to be able to better serve families and youth. After obtaining a MSW it is my goal to become a LISW and continue working with disadvantaged youth and families.
